Incorporated in December 2014, OpenNEO is a not for profit organization dedicated to creating a robust ecosystem of data sharing between government, nonprofits, businesses, academic institutions, and citizens in Northeast Ohio. We encourage this growth by helping organizations share and interpret data, working with data translators (journalists, application developers, civic hackers), and incubating pilot projects to demonstrate the value of open data.

OpenNEO’s work builds on existing open data efforts in the community, such as Case Western Reserve’s nationally-recognized data repository, Northeast Ohio Community and Neighborhood Data for Organizing (NEOCANDO), the 2011 Transparency Action Plan Summit, Code for America Brigade’s Open Cleveland, and the Cleveland Civic Hacking Meetup.
